Tier 4i vs Final Tier 4 Diesel Engine

In this current day and age of EPA regulations driving the “more efficient” diesel engine to less emissions, Municipalities of all levels and Contractors (big & small) are faced with ever increasing cost for the same output/end result of a performing piece of equipment…such as a Generator, Air Compressor, Welder, etc. Unfortunately as noted in the first few words, this is driven by current regulations and there is little any of us as end users can do about it. But, if at all possible look to purchase Tier 3 or Tier 4i (i = interval) diesel engines if available in the manufacturer(s) you are looking to own.

Take for an example, Kaeser Air, a great line-up of Air Compressors built for the Pro’s, easy to maintain and a great warranty are still available in most of their models in a Tier 4i or larger units maybe even in a Tier 3…saving you considerable money (in the thousands) vs other mfg’s that have to put out a compressor in a Final 4. Mfg’s are limited to the quantity they are allowed to make for these soon to run out “older” tiers, but feel free to contact us with any questions.
